Where this started, and why

It didn’t quite feel right as it was

Steady Uprising started as a conversation.
A simple one about what works, what doesn’t, and what feels like it’s missing.
From there, it grew into something more intentional.

Natalie and I were talking about business, what works, what doesn’t, and what always seems to be missing. There are plenty of places to connect, but far fewer where people can be open about what’s really going on, learn from each other, and actually move forward with clarity.

We kept coming back to the same idea. What would it look like if this was done properly? If people were supported, if trust was real, and if progress was something you worked on together rather than alone.

That conversation turned into something more intentional.

Steady Uprising was built to create a better environment for business owners, one where people feel supported, where they have space to be honest, and where they can set clear goals and actually make progress towards them.

A place where learning is shared, accountability is helpful, and growth feels achievable, not overwhelming.

Because when the right people come together in the right way, things tend to move forward, steadily.

A few years ago, I started my own business and quickly realised something was missing.

There were plenty of ways to connect, but not many places where people could be honest, learn from each other, and actually move forward together. So I made a conscious decision to surround myself with the right people.

One of my favourite sayings is, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.”
And it turns out, that applies to business just as much as anything else.

Being around the right people, those who support, challenge, and genuinely want to see each other do well, had a huge impact on how I grew, both professionally and personally.

I’ve always had a strong appetite for learning, and a simple belief: we either win, or we learn.

That mindset, along with a background in driving change, led to a bigger realisation. The business community doesn’t need to be complicated or competitive to work. It just needs to be done better.

Natalie has been in business for many years, building and growing a successful business while staying closely connected to the wider business community along the way.

Through that journey, she’s seen first-hand how businesses grow, the challenges that come with it, and the difference the right support can make at the right time.

She brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience, but just as importantly, a belief that business doesn’t have to be done alone, or competitively, to be successful.

Having been heavily involved in the business community for years, Natalie understands both the value and the gaps. There are plenty of places to connect, but far fewer where people can be genuinely open, honest, and supported as they grow.

Her view is simple. Business works better when people work together.

And when business owners have the space to be real about where they are, share what they’ve learned, and support each other properly, progress tends to follow.
